Function

The sVTm APP displays the contents of variant tables in an optimized user interface. The APP is used exclusively to improve the editing of table content. The use of this application does not affect any standard SAP processes and all master data is only stored in the SAP backend.

Editing process:

When a variant table is called up, the content is loaded from the connected backend system and made available to the user for editing. In addition, the master data of the characteristics and their values are retrieved from the backend. This means that entries can be validated during processing almost in accordance with the SAP standard checks.

Storage process:

Once editing is complete, the application checks whether the variant table has been changed in the meantime before saving it in the SAP backend. If changes have been made in the backend, these have priority and the user receives an error message in the app. If no changes have been made by a third party in the backend, the app writes back the edited table contents and runs through the SAP standard checks. If the adjusted data is correct, the user receives a confirmation of positive processing in the app.

Upload and download functions:

With the upload and download functionality, the app offers the option of processing the table contents via a spreadsheet tool, such as Excel. All values, including multiple assessments, are provided transparently in the download.
